Karnataka High Court stays Puttur Sri Mahalingeshwar TAB decision over change of priest

Puttur: The State High Court stayed the decision of Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple Administration Board (TAB), which had divested him of his role earlier.

The TAB had served a notice to its temple priest and religious guide Ravish Thantri Kuntaru, and later removed him.

Thantri, contesting polls from Kasaragod Assembly segment without TAB permission is understood to be the reason behind his removal. TAB had cited his move as a possible impediment for the functioning of the temple and later gone ahead with his removal.
