Mysuru: The employees of Bharath Earth Movers Limited (BEML) have decided to stage a stir on May 30 opposing the decision of the central government to privatize the company.

The BEML Employees' Association has called for a Mysuru, Bengaluru, Kolar and Shivamogga bundh in connection to the same from 6 am to 6 pm on May 30.Association President NK Devadas said that organisations like CITU and AITUC have decided to support the bundh.

As a part of the protest, a bike rally will be held in Mysuru on May 27, he said adding that several latest machines and equipment of the defense forces are developed by the BEML and handing over such a crucial company to private hands will put the nation's security at stake.
