Moscow: The much-awaited 2018 FIFA World Cup got underway on Thursday, with hosts Russia securing a dominant 5-0 win against Saudi Arabia.Goals from Denis Cheryshev, Iury Gazinsky, Artem Dzyuba and Aleksandr Golovin set up the match for the hosts, giving them their first three full points.
Egypt will face Uruguay early on Friday, a match where star man Mohamed Salah is expected to feature. Morocco will face Iran in the second game, whereas reigning Euro champions Portugal will lock horns with an under-pressure Spain in the biggest match of the day.
