IPL 2018: Delhi Daredevils opt to bowl vs Mumbai Indians
Delhi Daredevils captain Gautam Gambhir chose to bowl against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. With both team lying at the bottom of the table after two consecutive losses from their first two games, a win will be a huge morale booster while another loss would simply derail them this season.
Both the sides made two changes to their squad with Delhi Daredevils bringing in Jason Roy and Dan Christian for Chris Morris and Colin Munro while Mumbai Indians switched Ben Cutting and Pradeep Sangwan for Akila Dananjaya and Hardik Pandya. A major reason why Mumbai Indians have looked a notch down than their winning campaign last season is because they haven’t had good starts at the top of the order. Neither Sharma, nor Ishan Kishan and Evin Lewis have played to their reputation so far and have let the team down with inconsistent shows. Daredevils, too, have had a similar problem albeit their last game was a rain-curtailed one. However, Mumbai can take heart from the fact that they maintain an envious record against the Daredevils, having won four of their last five matches. Overall, however, there’s not much of a difference between the two sides with the defending champions edging their opponents 11-9 so far in the IPL.
