Samsung Gear S4 may come with a bigger battery
Over the last few days, there have been a lot of leaks and rumours surrounding Samsung’s next flagship smartphone, dubbed the Galaxy Note 9. A new rumour points to a Samsung product that will supposedly launch alongside it, the Samsung Gear S4 smart watch. Both devices are expected to be announced in August.
The Samsung Gear S4 will be the successor to Samsung’s Gear S3 which Samsung announced in August 2016. The Samsung Gear S4 will reportedly come with a 470mAh battery that’s up from the 380mAh battery found on the Gear S3. Samsung’s battery life in their range of smart watches has been pretty good so with a bigger battery, you can only expect this to improve. As per a report in CNET, the upcoming Samsung Gear S4 will use a new panel level package (PLP) chip that could allow the Gear S4 to be thinner or cheaper. The main focus of the event will be the unveiling of the Galaxy Note 9.
The last we heard about this upcoming smartphone were where design schematics of the handset was leaked. The design shows the positioning of the dual camera systems that correlate with the size of the battery. This shows that the next Samsung flagship will come with horizontal dual cameras. The Galaxy Note 9 will supposedly include a slightly bigger battery. The Note 9 will position the fingerprint scanner under the cameras. The report goes on to add, there are tons of other hardware requirements to be taken into consideration when designing the Galaxy Note 9, but since the battery is the thickest and biggest module, the camera sensors simply can't fit over it. The initial rumours suggest a 4000mAh capacity will be used in the handset.
