Sugar eases on sluggish demand

Mumbai : Both varieties of sugar eased at the Vashi wholesale market here today following sluggish demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Small sugar (S-30) moved down by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 3,600/3,710 from Thursday's close of Rs 3,610/3,710.Elsewhere, medium sugar (M-30) edged down by Rs 4 per quintal to Rs 3,712/3,882 as compared Rs 3,716/3,882 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,600/3,710 (Rs 3,610/3,710).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,712/3,882 (Rs 3,716/3,882).
