Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday slammed Congress saying that the grand old party is trying to defame the government on the economic front.

"The Congress is trying to defame the Central government on the economic front," he said. "The demonetisation and the GST are strong economic measures. Had India's economy not been strong no foreign investor would've come here. Fact is foreign investments is rising," Singh added.

The Union Home Minister also claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will attain a two-thirds majority in the upcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. While replying to Pulwama encounter which took place on Monday, Rajnath said Pakistan indulges in unholy practices but coordination among our security forces is so good that terrorists are being regularly neutralised.
