Sugar slips on subdued demand

Mumbai : Both varieties of sugar prices small and medium slipped at the Vashi wholesale market today on subdued demand from stockists, retailers and bulk consumers.

Small sugar prices declined by Rs 8/32 per quintal to Rs 3,672/3,710 from Thursday's closing Rs 3,680/3,742.

Medium sugar eased by Rs 4 per quintal to Rs 3,752/3,942 as compared Rs 3,752/3,946 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,672/3,710 (Rs 3,680/3,742).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,752/3,942 (Rs 3,752/3,946).
