Copra firms up on sustained demand

Mumbai : Copra office Alapuzha, copra office Kozhikode, copra Rajapur Mumbai firmed up at the spices market here today due to sustained demand from stockists and retailers amid good export offtake.

While, other spices including black pepper, ginger and copra edible mumbai held stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying activity.Copra rajapur mumbai climbed by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 17,000 from Last saturday's close Rs 16,500.Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode rose by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 12,200 and Rs 12,000 from Last weekends close Rs 12,000 and Rs 11,800.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets): 

Black pepper (per kg) 460/550 (460/550), ginger unbleached (per kg) 135 (135), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 12,200 (12,000), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 12,000 (11,800), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 17,000 (16,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 14,200 (14,200).
