Medium sugar slips due to reduced demand

Mumbai : Medium sugar dropped at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to reduced demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

While medium sugar ended mixed owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling. Medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 32/102 per quintal to Rs 3,714/3,810 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,746/3,912.

However, Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 3,695/3,762 from Rs 3,652/3,780 yesterday. Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets: 

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,695/3,762 (Rs 3,652/3,780). Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,714/3,810 (Rs 3,746/3,912).
