Bollywood star Salman Khan seems to have toppled Aamir Khan’s Dangal record with his latest offering, Race 3. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the June 15 release has bagged a Rs 130 crore satellite rights deal with a major television network. This is arguably the highest deal for a Bollywood film - a slot that was previously held by Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal with Rs 110 crore.

The tabloid claimed the producers have the sealed the deal at Rs 130 crore, which is more than the film’s budget. While declining to comment on the rumoured figure, Race 3 producer Ramesh Taurani earlier told Hindustan Times, “Big-budget films like Race 3 need to sell off the (satellite and digital) rights at a high cost in order to enter the safe zone.” Another major release that hit theatres last week, Rajinikanth-starrer Kaala sold its satellite rights for Rs 75 crore. Last year, Salman’s Sultan bagged Rs 55 crore for the satellite rights while Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees earned Rs 45 crore from the satellite rights’ deal. Directed by Remo Fernandez, Race 3 is the third film in Race franchise and stars Bobby Deol, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Saqib Saleem and Daisy Shah.
