The audio launch of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kaala is set to take place on May 9 in a big way at the YMCA grounds in Chennai. While there’s no denying it’s going to be one of its kind of an event, rumours have emerged that Thalaivar may finally reveal his political ambitions and offer clarity to his fans and public alike on the occasion.

Despite making his political entry official and confirming that he will soon float a party, Rajinikanth hasn’t really made any major announcement. On several occasions over the last few months, he’s been dodging questions about his political entry, saying that he’d only speak when the time is right. The audio launch will feature live performances of some of the songs from the movie by Santhosh Narayanan along with his band and orchestra. The film, according to director Ranjith, is about the diverse families that live in Mumbai’s Dharavi slum, which is filled with people from different culture and language. In a recent interview, Ranjith mentioned that the titular character in the film, played by Rajinikanth, is inspired from his grandfather. Rajinikanth plays a character called Karikaalan, and people call him Kaala. Also starring Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, Anjali Patil and Pankaj Tripathi, the film is gearing up for June 7 release.
